Re: Team for Man City - League Cup
i would leave Antonio on the bench and see how we go. If we are still in it bring him on for a spell after HT. We are at the point where the fixtures are going to start piling up so we may as well start going plan B

Kids are all right :)
2-0 Winners, through to the next round.
City kids lost 5-0 @ Rotherham.
Probably not their full u21's maybe playing them tomorrow.

Re: Team for Man City - League Cup
Most of Moyes signings are benched till they get up to speed like Bowen and benny. Vlasic is no different. Ha

Only ones I can think thrown straight in like zouma and soucek we were desperate for

Re: Team for Man City - League Cup
Ashby, Okoflex and Chester's all starting for the U21's at Gillingham tonight.
2-0 up at half time with Ashby getting the first with a great team move.
Get to 4 lads and then they can be on the bench tomorrow :)

Re: Team for Man City - League Cup
The best players play twice a week.
Diop and Dawson will come in and Soucek can have a rest.
Next week against Genk is the time to rest Rice from the starting lineup.
The same for the likes of Cresswell.
Johnson will not want to miss a game as he has the shirt.
Antonio has played twice in 3 weeks, he can start. Lanzini and Vlasic will play.

v City
Areola
Johnson Diop Dawson Cresswell
Rice Noble
Bowen Lanzini Vlasic
Antonio

v Villa
Same as Spurs

v Genk
Areola
Fredericks Diop Dawson Zouma Masuaku
Soucek Kral
Yarmo Vlasic Lanzini

Re: Team for Man City - League Cup
I like would to see Dan Chesters involved at some point. I know he was only on for a few minutes against Genk but didnt look overawed and won a couple of tackles. Could be a very good player.

Re: Team for Man City - League Cup
It’s a dilemma. Winning this cup is likely a far higher priority for the fans (a first trophy for over 40 years) than it is for the club. It is not worth a whole lot of money even if you get to the final. And now that the winners only get a place in the Europa Conference it has lost a lot of appeal.

Reckon Moyes will be relatively cautious and that the will line-up will not be too much different from what it was at Old Trafford. Areola, Diop, Dawson, Lanzini, Yarmolenko and Vlasic all certain starters. Possibly Kral and Noble as well.

Fifth,

Having seen this:

"Pep Guardiola says he will hand Manchester City’s youngsters another chance to shine in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup trip to West Ham"

That's my mind made up: Full Strength Squad.*

*Isnt it nice that we have options and dilemnas like this, rather than worrying that it will detract from our fight for survival :-)

“What other competition can we blood the youngsters in?”

The remaining Europa League group games once we’ve qualified.

Re: Team for Man City - League Cup
I would not start with Antonio as this is well down the list on priorities after Europa and the Legue.

I would not start with Masuaku at left back as he's not a left back. I'd play Longelo. What other competition can we blood the youngsters in?

I'd play something along lines of...

……………………Areola

Johnson…..Dawson…..Diop…..Longelo

Yarmolenko…..Rice…..Kral…..Masuaku

……………………Lanzini

……………………Vlasic
